DescriptionVisitor Services Program support at the Kodiak Refuge Visitor Center during scheduled cruise ship days in summer season 2025. Volunteer(s) requested to lead visitor engagement on high-visitation days in visitor center. Volunteers must be familiar with Alaska Refuges, preferably Kodiak Refuge. Free Government housing may or may not be available depending on the timing of the request being confirmed. Food stipend is not available due to reduced budget. Airline travel from Anchorage may be available. Key periods where Kodiak Refuge could use additional support due to the volume of cruise ships and our limited staffing capacity are: May 3-9 or May 3-7 (cruise ships are: May 3, 5, 6, 9x2), May 25-29 (Kodiak CrabFest is May 22-26; cruise ships are: May 25 & 28), July 26-27 (cruise ships are July 26 & 27), Sep 16-27 (cruise ships are Sep 16, 19, 20, 23, 25, 27)
Skills NeededCustomer service, comfortable with visitor engagement. The online defensive driving course is required to operate Government vehicles.
Materials NeededKodiak Refuge will provide Housing, Clothing, Equipment
