DescriptionKanuti may need volunteer help for approximately 2 weeks to assist our biologist with biological and maintenance work based out of Kanuti Lake Cabin. Prior years\' work has included bee sampling, soil microbe sampling, bird inventories, servicing trail cameras, and light maintenance and field logistics in support of our field cabin. These activities include: opening up the cabin for the season, servicing and deploying boats, etc. Overnight camping is possible, but typically we base daily out of cabin. Work is strenuous and we operate 6 of 7 days per week. Required training includes water ditching, first aid/cpr, bear safety, firearms, etc.
Skills NeededRemote camping; comfort on water, in bear country, able hiker in rough terrain, basic knowledge of boreal critters. Required training includes water ditching, first aid/cpr, bear safety, firearms, etc.
Materials NeededRefuge will provide Housing; Food; Equipment;
