| Description | The McGrath area youth live in an environment where first aid skills are important for survival. They are immersed in winter travel, river travel, airplane travel, & hunting and subsistence activities where knowledge and treatments of accidents can make a significant difference on outcomes. We are seeking a volunteer who has the skills to do first aid/cpr certifications for our area youth as part of an Innoko Science camp extension activity. The volunteer would travel and stay in McGrath for a day or two during training. Come learn about Innoko NWR and what we do out here in the middle of nowhere. For the adventurous soul(s), we can offer some fun R&R options, a tour of our area and fun secondary activities to explore. Pending budgets, the Refuge may be able to provide (1) roundtrip travel to McGrath from Anchorage or Fairbanks, and (2) lodging and food in McGrath. |
| Skills Needed | Applicants must be certified as instructors of CPR, basic first aid, or wilderness first aid by the American Red Cross, National Outdoor Leadership School, or Wilderness Medical Associates International. |
