DescriptionKodiak Refuge plans to host a week of programs, events, and presentations during the 2nd week of October for Refuge Week. Past events included beach cleanups, academic presentations, children’s programs, and more. The week will culminate in our 3rd annual Walk for the Wild interactive nature walk and scavenger hunt (likely on October 14th). The Refuge requests 1-2 volunteers to help organize and host events and presentations including the October Friend’s member meeting if desired. Housing will most likely be available if you are from off island. Volunteer will be responsible for their own travel.
Skills NeededGeneral knowledge about Kodiak Refuge and Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges. Good organizational skills to coordinate with Refuge staff to help with program development and logistics. Comfortable at working with the public of all ages.
