DescriptionTetlin NWR assists with the local 4th of July Festival as a means of connecting with the community as well as the traveling public. This entails a variety of duties ranging from building a float, blocking off roads, setting up and taking down tables for the main event, and running an activity. A festival appropriate game ran by the Friends group would be a great addition to the festival that would improve visitor experience while allowing for Friends to conduct outreach with the public. Volunteers would be most helpful on July 3rd and July 4th. There may be some additional work on July 5th.
Skills NeededVaried skills needed. Some float building, working with kids, conducting outreach with all ages, running activities, and more.
