DescriptionGive back to our local Alaska treasure by helping the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge with a ​trail maintenance project​ at the Cottonwood trail on the south side of Skilak lake. Free boat ride with refuge staff to that seldom seen south side of the lake. Hand tools and safety gear will be provided. This all day trip departs from the Skilak lake boat ramp at a time yet to be determined. View from the top of the trail is said to be spectacular. Potential wildlife sightings include: caribou, black bears, brown bears, river otters, dall sheep and much more including lots of boreal bird species and plant life! Must be at least 16. There are only 10 slots so don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t delay. Contact Tony at email or phone below. Please apply by May 15.
Skills NeededSkills needed: Ability to hike 5 miles round-trip with an elevation gain of 2200 feet while trail clearing with hand tools.
