DescriptionFriends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges partner with Alaska Maritime to present the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival. This four day event attended by several thousand people requires many volunteers to make it a success. There are many opportunities for YOU to assist in this migration celebration. Stop in at Islands and Ocean Visitor Center if you are in Homer or look at the online program to get an idea of the many tasks available. There will be a sign-up sheet at I&O or you can contact Betty Siegel for more details. See contact information below. We need volunteers to help with field trips and lectures, bird walks, viewing stations, and other events. You may choose to collect tickets and count participants for a presentation, assist families with using scopes and binoculars at a Viewing Station, carry a scope on a bird walk, help set up or clean up at the Birders Coffee, help greet the public at the front desk of I&O, or so much more. A festival poster and a complementary keynote ticket will be yours if you volunteer!
Skills NeededMust love birds! (Just kidding, no experience required, just a desire to help us out. You don\\\'t even have to be a Friend, but we\\\'d love it if you want to join.)
