Description | Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges is partnering with the U.S.Fish & Wildlife Service to present the 25th Annual Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival. It can only happen with the support of countless volunteers. There will be numerous and varied opportunities ranging from selling or collecting tickets, carrying scopes or Bird ID materials, counting attendees at events, doing Friends Outreach, and assisting at the Viewing Stations by finding shorebirds and using optics. Skills Needed | You do not have to be an expert birder or have skills other than a friendly attitude and willingness to help in the event of your choice. You should be able to use birding optics and birding field guides when at the Viewing Stations. |
Education Topics | If working at the Friends Outreach table, you may be asked questions about the Alaska Refuges and the Friends Group, which will be provided. |
