DescriptionThe annual Spring Birding Walks in Kotzebue are sponsored by the Selawik National Wildlife Refuge and the National Park Service. The volunteer should have a working knowledge of Alaska\\\\\\\'s birds which will be migrating north at this time.They will co-lead these outings and especially help with bird IDs and help beginning birders of all ages. The volunteer often gives a program of their choosing to the community or schools or teaches a beginning class on birding as well as leading the 4 or 5 walks. Nice, comfortable bunkhouse housing and needed transportation in Kotzebue is covered by the refuge. It would be good if the volunteer could arrive on the 18th to allow time for scouting, getting situated etc. Outings will likely be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so the volunteer could depart Monday.
