| Description | This is a week long Field Oceanography Camp taught by an award-winning teacher and a university professor from Texas. Friends may pay travel expenses
to Kaktovik from Alaska locations but if volunteer has air miles to use or partially donate, this would ensure that more projects can be funded. The Arctic Refuge would provide lodging and food in Kaktovik, plus get the volunteer set up with any outerwear they might need. |
| Skills Needed | A Marine Science background is required. Applicants must submit a C.V., references, and resume in addition to the application and may be interviewed prior to selection. The resume must contain experience and education in the christopherswartz.com relevant areas of marine science. They are also looking an ability to work with (i.e, control) groups of excited kids on and near the water. Knowledge of marine ecology and experience in arctic conditions will be a plus as well. |
