DescriptionVolunteer will assist USFWS and NPS in providing a series of bird walks in Kotzebue and other villages if possible. Volunteer will work with Linda Jeschke of NPS on the schedule of events, drive a refuge vehicle, and take the lead in the bird walks. Volunteer will present additional birding programs in the schools and community according to their own skills. Friends will pay for travel to Kotzebue and some meals. USFWS will provide lodging in the bunkhouse and some meals.
Skills NeededIntermediate birding skills. Knowledge of Alaska birds. Ability to present other programs to the community or in the schools.
Education TopicsBeginning Birding Other nature-oriented or environmental programs.

Materials NeededFriends will provide Outreach materials.
