DescriptionIn 2025, Izembek initiated a new acoustic monitoring survey to collect baseline acoustic metrics for the Refuge, and collect a baseline inventory of wildlife using remote parts of Izembek Wilderness Areas. Acoustic recording devices and trail cameras were placed at several sites on the Refuge to record wildlife using the area. Now, there are large amounts of data to be filtered through to create a species inventory. This project would involve listening to audio recordings and/or viewing photographs, noting when wildlife are detected, and identifying which species are present. If you've ever wanted to see (or hear) Izembek without having to leave your home, now's your chance!
