Description Tetlin NWR plans to band ducks for several weeks in the summer and early fall of 2019 as part of the national waterfowl banding effort. The refuge is looking for one week or longer commitments from volunteers to assist staff in daily banding efforts. This job would require driving and riding in government highway vehicles multiple hours a day, and riding in boats. Camping overnight may be required, depending on trap locations. Gear required to complete the job would be provided by the refuge, as well as housing. Volunteers with experience banding birds are encouraged to sign up, but anyone willing to get muddy and handle birds is welcome. MOCC training may be helpful, but it is not necessary. Provided dates are tentative based on staff availability and migration timing. Contact the refuge and talk with Tim Lorenzini (907-883-9409) if you have questions.
