DescriptionThe White Sweetclover work is under the guidance of the Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District crew lead. Weedwhackers will be used on larger infestations while seedlings will be handpulled. White sweetclover surveys of Fort Yukon village road system will monitor the impact and effectiveness of weed management in sites treated the previous growing season. 1. Invasive White Sweetclover Plant Control in Fort Yukon – Summer 2013 Work with Refuge cooperator Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District to control invasive plants in Fort Yukon, July and August. Travel to Fort Yukon, food and lodging (volunteers will be based out of the Refuge administrative cabin) will be provided by the Refuge. Two volunteers for 5 days/month Refuge will provide funds to cover travel and per diem to Fairbanks (if not local)www.thorntonwatch.com Volunteer may be asked to donate air miles to cover travel to Fairbanks if not local.
Skills NeededVolunteer must be able to weedwhack and pull and dispose of white sweetclover plants in Fort Yukon (4 day trip, 10 hr days)
