DescriptionThe Round Mountain Science Camp is a science and rc drones for sale natural resources camp that Innoko NWR and partners have conducted annually since 1993. Up to twelve high school students, from seven Athabascan villages in the Iditarod Area School District, come for one week in July to an outdoor classroom (small one-room cabin) near McGrath that is only accessible by boat. In the past, activities have included: fire ecology, plant identification and uses, bird banding and identification, moose browse analysis, small mammal trapping, canoeing, orienteering, traditional subsistence activities, fishing and fish identification, and more. The students are eligible for ½ high school science credit by the end of camp and are responsible for keeping a journal during the week.
Skills Needed- Experience working with or teaching high school age students would be great - Specific area of expertise not typically represented at Refuges is encouraged; or a person with knowledge in a particular area (e.g. Alaskan insects, fish biology, vegetation, hydrology, etc.) - Ability to hike ¾ miles to camp with their gear and camp in rudimentary conditions (no running water or electricity - Excited to spend 5 days with up to 12 teenagers 
