DescriptionStaff 50th exhibit at Alaska Forum on the Environment in Anchorage The Alaska Forum is pleased to announce the Alaska Forum on the Environment, 2010 will be held February 8-12, 2010 at the Anchorage Dena'ina Convention Center! This year we will offer over 80 technical breakout sessions and 4 sensational Keynote Events. For 2010, we will continue to offer the a full comprehensive series of sessions on climate change, energy, environmental regulations, cleanup and remediation, fish & wildlife, solid waste, and special programs for Alaskan youth...
Skills NeededOUTREACH- Assist in the set-up and clean-up od various display materials, conduct education activities, discuss the celebration with the public, sell Friends promotional items where appropriate.
Education TopicsThe celebration will promote public understanding and appreciation for the Arctic Refuge and Refuge System through products and events for internal and external audiences. Messages will: 1) Inspire Americans’ pride in “treasured landscapes”; 2) Celebrate a milestone of conservation history; 3) Restore appreciation for values of Arctic Refuge; 4) Show Arctic Refuge as a living laboratory to understand effects of climate change; 5) Promote appreciation of missions of the Refuge System and the US Fish and Wildlife Service; 6) Renew Americans’ commitment to volunteerism; 7) Honor conservation pioneers; and 8) Initiate a new era of conservation.
