Description | 1. Greeters and Lunch Hostesses needed for Attu 75th events at the Loussac Library, UAA Fine Arts Building, Anchorage Museum, and Alaska Aviation Museum. The Attu 75th events and contact information for volunteering are listed below. Please note that Sarah Churchill will be out of town and will not respond until May 1. NO APPLICATION NECESSARY 2. Friends of Alaska NWR Outreach Table at each venue. To volunteer to staff an Outreach table, please contact Poppy Benson directly at poppyb.ak@gmail.com NO APPLICATION NECESSARY Volunteer Job Descriptions for Battle of Attu 75th Anniversary Commemoration May 17 “When the Fog Clears” Lunch Hostesses The volunteers will staff the lunch table and hand out sandwiches and beverage to the guests. May 17 “When the Fog Clears” film 2 volunteers 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (1.5 hrs) Greeters The volunteer will greet the guests as they arrive at the “When the Fog Clears” and hand out a program. The volunteer will escort the special guests to their reserved seating and deal with any special needs they guests may have. May 17 “When the Fog Clears” film 2 volunteers 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (2.5hrs) (UAA Fine Arts Building) May 17 Reflections on Attu Art Show Loussac Library Greeters The volunteer will greet the guests as they arrive at the exhibit and hand out a program. The volunteer will deal with any special needs they guests may have. May 17 Reflections on Attu Art Show 2 volunteers 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (3 hrs) (Loussac Library) May 18 Elders Luncheon & Attu Discussion Aleutian Pribilof Island Association Greeters The volunteer will greet the guests as they arrive at the luncheon and hand out a program and deal with any special needs they guests may have. May 18 Descendants Luncheon & Attu Discussion 2 volunteers 11:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (4.75 hrs) May 18 Japanese Perspective WWII in the Aleutians Anchorage Museum Theatre Greeters The volunteer will greet the guests as they arrive at the theater and hand out a program. The volunteer will escort the special guests to their reserved seating and deal with any special needs they guests may have. May 18 Japanese Perspective on in Aleutians 2 volunteers 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (3 hrs) |
